Physical Wellbeing in Peterborough

In Peterborough there is a range of opportunities for physical activity. The information below outlines a few that are supported by the mental health community:

    Health, Sport and Leisure

    ‘New Start’ Exercise Referral Scheme:
    NHS Peterborough, in partnership with Peterborough City Council, offers you the opportunity to participate in regular and physical exercise to improve your health and wellbeing. To take part in the scheme, please contact your GP who will refer you to Bushfield Sports Centre for an initial assessment.

    The scheme is administered by the Public Health Team and delivered by Bushfield Sports Centre which offers a wide range of facilities including exercise classes, multi purpose sports hall, Planet Pulse fitness studio and squash:

    Walking For Health
    There are thirteen ‘Health Walking Groups’ that meet up weekly across the city. It is open to everyone and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
